Wednesday, September 18, 2013 :: ::: September 12, 2013 — Nearly half of nonprofit leaders believe that foundations are unaware of the challenges they face and a greater share want more help from foundations in meeting demand for their programs and services, according to a new report from the Center for Effective Philanthropy in Cambridge.

The findings, published in Nonprofit Challenges: What Foundations Can Do, were based on a survey of 121 national nonprofit leaders, who oversee staffs with a median of 11 full-time equivalent employees, have annual expenses of $1.2 million, and derive 20% of their funding from foundations.
