KTUU.com | Alaska's news and information source | New study traces PFD spending: "A survey of about 1,000 households in 181 communities shows rural Alaskans are spending 80 percent of their PFD on household items like fuel, while only 60 percent of urban dwellers do so.
But the real focus of this survey is charitable giving and how the PFD can be better shared with those in need.
Donna Logan, a consultant with the McDowell Group, claims to be the first ever to research PFD spending."
